If you want to get a glimpse into what racism, love and hope, feels like, upfront and personal, I invite you to view, "DreamMakers", a film directed by Dove Suau, a brillant Puerto Rican director. This film takes you on the journey of three families: a Black Family that navigated through over 6 decades of racism and discrimination, (my family and I), a Mexican American man from California, who served 10 years of a life sentence for a crime he did not commit, and two Puerto Rican communities, the South Bronx and Chicago, who reclaimed their dignity and identity by transforming themselves from the inside out.
